Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department arrested 24-year-old Joshua Chappell in connection with a homicide that occurred early on October 15, 2025, on the 2400 block of S. 21st Street.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 12:20 a.m. and found 24-year-old Tyrese Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, and next of kin have been notified. Chappell has been charged with manslaughter.
Police said the investigation is ongoing but believe the incident to be isolated, and there is no danger to the public.
