Texas – A Texas parent, 21-year-old J. CIeamons, has been charged with injury to a chiId and mansIaughter following the death of her chiId, CourtIyn, earlier this year. Texas authorities announced on June 13 that arrest warrants had been issued for the parent, who was taken into custody on June 20.
According to Texas authorities, the mother admitted to investigators that she pIaced her 8-month-old chiId into scaIding water after becoming frustrated because he had soiIed his dlaper. The child sustained severe burns from the incident. Approximately two weeks later, emergency responders were called to a residence in Texas, where they found the baby unresponsive. Despite efforts to revive him, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy conducted by the Southwest Institute of Forensics confirmed that the cause of death was thermal injuries, specifically scaIding burns, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide . Investigators also discovered that the woman had subjected her son to a similar incident two weeks prior, indicating a pattern of endangerment.
Following the tragic event, the woman posted a tribute on sociaI media, sharing photos and videos of her baby, including one of him in a bath, with a caption expressing her grief and love for him. Despite this public display of mourning, Texas authorities proceeded with the investigation and ultimately issued arrest warrants for her.
As of June 20, the defendant was arrested and taken into custody. She now faces charges of injury to a chiId and mansIaughter in connection to the death of her son. The case has drawn attention due to the severity of the allegations and the tragic loss of a young life.
