TEXAS – Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported the passing of a 20-year department veteran, Sgt. Bruce Watson when he was fatally struck on his way home by a vehicle in Pearland. He succumbed to his injuries at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The accident happened near FM 2234 and Kingsley Drive. Officials said, Sgt. Watson had just finished an off-duty job leading a funeral procession.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said, “Sgt. Watson served his community with honor and distinction, and we ask for everyone to lift his family in prayer during this difficult time.”
The Sheriff’s office Facebook posted, Sgt. Watson was a proud U.S. Army veteran, survived by his wife, a Houston Police Department Officer, and his three adult children, two daughters, and a son.
Funeral arrangements for Sgt. Watson are pending.
