Stepmom, who forced her other 3 children to zip tie their 10-year-old sister to her bed frame and ignore her cries for help, trtured the little girl to the point she had to undergo 17 surgeries and couldn’t walk for nine months; sentenced

According to the court documents, the 33-year-old defendant, later identified as Mayra, was found guilty to multiple charges, including: t0rture, child abuse and endangerment, enhancement of causing great bodily injury and simple assault. Prosecutors said the stepmother reportedly t0rtured her 10-year-old stepdaughter. The poor child suffered severe injuries and needed 17 surgeries. Mayra will be sentenced on Nov. 3, 2023. The child was forced to kneel on raw rice and tin cans while holding weights over her head.

Last year, the girl’s father, Domingo, reportedly rushed his child to the hospital. The little girl, who weighed only 50 lbs, was not unresponsive. The girl’s dad reportedly told the doctors and authorities that his daughter hurt herself and had fallen down the stairs. The doctors told investigators that the child a broken neck, a b0ne sticking out and bruises covering almost every inch of her body.

Prosecutors said that while the girl was in the hospital, her uncle Walter and aunt Levit reported the abuse to investigators. Shortly after, both parents were taken into custody. District Attorney Todd reportedly said: “Hogtying her with zip ties and forcing her to kneel on tin cans for so long her chin had pressure wounds was as routine as reminding the other children to brush their teeth. She physically, mentally, and emotionally abused and humiliated this child for months and when that was not enough, she forced her other children to participate in the torture, forcing them to zip tie their sister to her bed frame and to ignore her cries for help.”

Prosecutors also said that the poor little girl underwent 17 surgeries for her knees and she couldn’t walk for nine months. According to the court documents, the 10-year-old child was also plunged face-first into a bathtub full of ice water while zip-tied. Once, the child was forced by her stepmother to bite into a habanero pepper that was then rubbed into her eyes and gen-tals. The girl’s siblings reportedly told prosecutors that Mayra forced them to participate in the t0rture and then forced them to watch. The girl’s dad is awaiting trial on similar charges.
