Woman left her boyfriend’s 1-year-old baby hospitalized on several occasions by giving it multiple objects that could cause a child serious harm or death before she gave the child a deadly dose of actone and ultimately killed her; charged

Police officials said the 20-year-old woman, Aliesia, was arrested and later charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child after she reportedly killed her boyfriend’s child last year. The woman, who was taken into custody last week, attempted to kill the child on several other occasions before she gave the 1-year-old girl a deadly dose of ac3tone, prosecutors say.

In June 2023, first responders arrived at the residence in regards to an unresponsive 1-year-old girl. The 1-year-old baby, who was unconscious and not breathing, was rushed to the hospital where succumbed to her injuries and died 4 days later. According to the court documents, just months before the 1-year-old child, Iris, died, she was hospitalized multiple times after she reportedly ingested 20 water beads, batteries, and a metal screw.

Authorities also revealed that the father’s girlfriend also searched the internet for a lot of different ways with harming a child. Both the water beads and the batteries prior to the baby ingesting those. The 20-year-old woman also searched for information on household products that could cause a child serious harm or death, including water beads, batteries, and nail polish.

Prosecutors also said that the father’s girlfriend also searched for ‘what happens when someone drinks acetone,’ ‘poisoiness products to babies,’ and ‘medications leading to cause accidental poisoning deaths in children.’ The medical examiner told authorities that Iris’ cause of death was acetone poisoning resulting in organ failure. The child was exposed to acetone just before her hospitalization. The girl’s dad was not charged in connection to his daughter’s death because there is no evidence at all, linking him or anyone else to the Iris’ death, prosecutors said.
