Police officials said the 42-year-old suspect, later identified as MichaeI, reportedly admitted to admitted to shooting a woman in the head, shooting at another 60-year-old woman in an attempt to kill her and to shooting at 17-year-old girl through a bathroom door. MichaeI was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including: murder in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree of a law enforcement officer and felon in possession of a firearm.
Last month, officers responded to the victim’s home and made contact with the 60-year-old woman, who survived the shooting. The woman was outside the home with her 17-year-old granddaughter. During an interview with investigators, the 60-year-old grandmother reportedly said that MichaeI shot her friend, then shot her and her granddaughter because the two women discussed kicking him out of the home because he pursued a relationship with the 17-year-old girl.
Per reports, the 42-year-old suspect also fired shots at the responding officers, but quickly surrendered. When officers entered the house, they found the woman, who was not identified, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The 60-year-old grandmother reportedly told investigators that she talked with her friend about kicking MichaeI out of the housee because he was pursuing a relationship with the 17-year-old child. After shooting her friend, MichaeI then shot at the 60-year-old grandmother.
He then shot at the 17-year-old girl through the bathroom door. When the girl attempted to leave the home, he shot her in the leg. During an interview with investigators, the 42-year-old suspect reportedly admitted to to writing a letter to the 17-year-old girl insisting that she enter into a relationship with him and not date anyone else. MichaeI then heard the girl’s 60-year-old grandmother and her friend talking about leaving with the girl. MichaeI also told investigators that he felt betrayed and went to his room to grab his gun.
