Belton, TX – A Belton woman was arrested early on January 8 after crashing her vehicle while intoxicated and allegedly assaulting police officers at a local hospital. Danae Marie Hogan, 24, faces multiple charges, including resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, and assaulting officers.
At around 12:05 a.m., Belton police were called to the scene of a traffic accident near Mesquite Lane and South IH 35 Service Road. When officers arrived, they identified the driver as Hogan and immediately noted signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol.
During a search of her vehicle, police discovered a THC pen, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. Hogan was taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation, but the situation escalated when she reportedly resisted officers’ attempts to take her into custody.
According to police, Hogan became physically combative, biting one officer and kicking another as they attempted to restrain her. The officers’ attempts to gain control of the situation were met with further resistance, resulting in additional chaos. Police also reported damage to the passenger side door and interior of a patrol vehicle during the incident.
Hogan was eventually transported to the Bell County Jail and booked on several charges, including driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, and possession of marijuana. She is currently being held in jail with an unknown bond amount.
The case remains under investigation, and Hogan is expected to face court proceedings in the coming weeks.
