Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is continuing to investigate a homicide that took place on the evening of April 20, 2025, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old male, Giovanni Lopez.
The incident occurred around 8:55 p.m. in the 1700 Block of JJ Flewellen, where three males were shot. Lopez was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Two other individuals, both 18 and 23 years old, were also injured in the shooting but are reported to be in stable condition.
The police department has stated that the shooting is believed to have been targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities have not yet located a suspect, and the investigation remains active.
Waco Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Those with tips can contact the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP (4357). If the tip leads to an arrest, a reward of up to $2,000 may be offered.
As of now, authorities have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
