New Mexico – A New Mexico parent pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen counts of chiId abuse and one count of conspiracy to commit chiId abuse following her arraignment last week. Her spouse, 50-year-old MeIvin, faces twenty four charges, including criminal se-ual contact of a minor, criminal se-ual penetration, abuse of a chiId, aggravated battery, and tampering with evidence. Both were arrested earlier this year and are currently being held without bond.
The investigation began when a child, 16, reported to authorities that she had been se-ually assaulted by her bioIogical parent for several years, since she was thirteen. She also disclosed that she had been forced to engage in se-ual acts with her sibIings , aged between six months and sixteen years, in the presence of other aduIts.
The children were found living in depIorable conditions on a thirty-five-acre property in New Mexico. They were sleeping in a semi-underground cavve surrounded by trash, rotting food, and human f-ces. The property contained dilapidated trailers, broken-down vehicles, and buckets filled with human waste.
Following the arrests, all seven children were placed into protective custody. The victim had reportedly become pregnant twice, at ages fourteen and sixteen, though it’s unclear whether the pregnancies were carried to term.
The victim’s mom now faces sixteen counts of child abuse and one count of conspiracy to commit chiId abuse.
The case has shocked the New Mexico community, with many residents expressing disbelief and horror at the allegations. Local authorities are continuing to investigate the case, and the community is rallying to support the children affected by this tragedy.
