Texas – A Texas woman, 22-year-old D. Rodgers, was arrested earlier this week and charged with a second-degree feIony for engaging in an lmproper reIationship with a minor student. The charge stems from an alleged se-ual encounter with a maIe student in late March.
According to the Texas authorities, the investigation process began earlier this year when an unidentified student reported to school officials about a se-ual reIationship between the defendant and a minor student. The student provided a voicemail in which the woman admitted to sending expIicit photos to the male student, 17. Further inquiry revealed that the woman had been employed at a local store, where she allegedly engaged in reIationships with several co-workers who were also students.
Upon being questioned by detectives, the victim initially denied the reIationship. However, after investigators presented text messages discussing about contraceptive pill and a receipt, the student acknowledged the encounter. The defendant initially described their relationship as that of a “big sister and little brother.” When confronted with the evidence, she admitted to having se-ual contact with the student once in his vehicle in a parking lot.
A forensic examination of the defendant’ phone revealed text messages discussing the relationship and evidence of the student sending her money through an app. Additionally, a video of the woman taking the contraceptive pill and a screenshot of the receipt were found. Investigators also discovered a text thread between the woman and a friend describing a previous se-ual relationship with another minor student.
Principal Vlncent addressed the situation in a letter to families, emphasizing that the alleged misconduct did not occur at school, during school hours, or at any school-sponsored event. He clarified that the woman was not a school employee and was immediately removed from campus once the district was made aware of the situation.
The defendant was booked into the county jail on May 16 and released on a $20,000 bond the following day. She is scheduled for a pre-indictment court hearing on June 4, 2025.
