Texas — Governor Greg Abbott expressed gratitude to fellow governors nationwide for providing vital emergency response and recovery assistance after severe flooding struck Texas.
Following an Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) request, 26 states deployed a range of specialized teams and resources to support Texas’s flood response efforts. These included urban search and rescue teams, swiftwater boat squads, K-9 units, debris management specialists, aerial equipment crews, state troopers, and voluntary agency liaisons.
“The bravery and generosity of these emergency teams played a vital role in our mission to save lives and help our communities begin the road to recovery,” Governor Abbott said. “Texas will rebuild, and we thank our partners for standing with us every step of the way.”
States providing assistance include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
