Authorities Investigating Death of Missing Delaware Woman in Waco

Waco, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), in collaboration with the Waco Police Department, is investigating the death of 22-year-old Illsy Lorena Vasquez Mendoza, who was originally reported as missing from Dover, Delaware. Mendoza’s body was discovered near the 300 block of South 8th Street in Waco, prompting a swift response from law enforcement agencies.

According to officials, Mendoza had been reported missing earlier this month, sparking an investigation that led to the discovery of her remains in Waco. While the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

The Texas Rangers, a division of DPS, are leading the inquiry with assistance from local Waco police. Investigators have not yet released details about the cause of death or any potential leads in the case. As of now, the investigation remains active, and authorities are working to gather more information.

Mendoza’s family, still reeling from her disappearance, has not publicly commented on the case, and law enforcement has urged anyone with information to come forward.

Mendoza, a resident of Dover, Delaware, was last seen several weeks ago before she was reported missing by family members. Her death in Waco raises several questions, and investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and subsequent discovery.

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact local authorities as the investigation continues. Updates on the case are expected to be released as new details become available.
