Ohio – An Ohio boyfriend was ordered to serve decades behind bars after pleading guilty to the brutal killing of his girlfriend, Susane, in her home. The sentence came after the defendant, K. Kahary, admitted to aggravated murder, felonious assault, and gross abuse of a corpse in December last year.
According to a release from the prosecutor’s office, the tragic events began when the local police department conducted a wellness check on the 46-year-old victim after she had been reported missing. They found her child, 10, home alone, with his mother’s body discovered inside her vehicIe, which was parked in the garage. Police later determined that woman had been dead for several weeks.
The investigation revealed that the 22-year-old man and his girlfriend had gotten into a violent argument in the garage, where he punched and choked her until she lost consciousness. The victim, however, remained alive after the initial attack, and the defendant helped her back inside her home to her couch.
During the attack, the mother’s boyfriend also assaulted her child, striking unidentified boy with a small shoveI in an attempt to keep him quiet. He knocked the child unconscious, leaving him vulnerable to further threats. Afterward, he continued to choke the woman until she died.
The defendant did not immediately report the murder. Instead, he told the boy that his mother needed to be driven to the hospital. He later forced the child to help him move her body into the vehicIe. The boy was led to believe that his mom was still alive. Weeks later, he confessed the crime to his parents, who then contacted the police.
As part of the investigation, authorities uncovered the chilling details of the crime, and the autopsy confirmed that the woman had been dead for several weeks. The prosecution described the murder as particularly violent and horrific, citing the physical abuse of both the 46-year-old woman and her son.
“He should never have to hug his dead mother, put her in the car with her murderer. He should never have to play dead while laying in his own blood so his mother‘s murderer will stop kicking him,” the victim’s family member told the court during sentencing.
Kahari’s conviction comes after nearly two years of investigation, which culminated in the sentencing. He is now serving a lengthy prison term, must serve thirty nine years before he is eligible for parole, reflecting the severity of the crimes he committed against his girlfriend and her child.
