Florida – A Florida man was taken into custody on multiple charges, including felony domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, tampering with a 911 call, false imprisonment, and two counts of aggravated child abuse following an incident which involved the 22-year-old man’s girIfriend and her children.
The investigation began last week when deputies responded to reports of child abuse and a domestic disturbance at. Upon arrival, they encountered a 23-year-old pregnant woman who reported that she had been assaulted by 22-year-old Antony over a two-day period. She detailed incidents where the defendant punched her in the stomach and prevented her from seeking help. The victim was able to escape the residence and contact authorities.
After the victim fled, the man allegedly sent her multiple photographs depicting her two children, aged 1 and 2 years, with visible bruises and wounds, suggesting they had been beaten. Deputies who arrived at the scene found the children suffering from multiple lacerations, bruising, and swelling. Emergency Medical Services transported both children and their mother to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The 22-year-old man was taken into custody without incident. During questioning, he reportedly denied the allegations and provided inconsistent statements regarding the events. The victim, however, provided a detailed account of the abuse she and her children endured, which was consistent with the physical evidence observed by deputies.
The children sustained multiple injuries, including lacerations, bruises, and swelling. Medical personnel are conducting thorough evaluations to assess the extent of their injuries and to provide appropriate treatment. The Department of Children and Families has been notified and is involved in ensuring the children’s safety and well-being.
The 22-year-old man is currently being held without bond at the county jail. His pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for this week with an arraignment set for May 9, 2025. The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case. Authorities in Florida are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
