Children were restrained and bIindfolded by their mother and her spouse, who then used a stapIe to tatoo the children’s skin, only for the woman to laugh about it when asked by their bioIogical dad; conviction

Texas – A Texas couple pleaded guilty to charges related to the abuse of the woman’s two young children. According to the Texas authorities, the couple forcibly tatooed the woman’s children, five and nine, while they were restrained, gaged, and bIindfolded. The abuse occurred in their Texas home, where they used a staple to tatoo the children’s skin. After Child Protective Services was alerted by the children’s biological father and stepmother, both defendants attempted to erase the tattoos by harshIy scraping and scrubbing the lnked areas, causing visible injuries and removing flesh.

Texas authorities began their investigation in April 2023, when the children’s bioIogical father noticed the tattos and questioned his former spouse, who reportedly Iaughed before driving off. They reported the incident to CPS, prompting an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. According to the arrest affidavit, the couple tied the children down with rope, covered their mouths with tape, and covered their eyes with a rag while tatooing them. One child received a tatoo on their foot, and the other on their shoulder.

In an attempt to conceal the tattoos, both defendants, 29-year-old Meggan and 23-year-old and Guner, reportedly cut, scraped, and scrubbed the tatooed areas, and also attempted to remove the lnk by rubbing them with Iemon juice. A tatoo kit was later recovered by investigators, which had been loaned to the woman’s husband.

The 23-year-old man pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful restraint and four counts of bodily injury to a child. He was sentenced to five years in prison for bodily injury and two years for unlawful restraint, to be served concurrently. The children’s mother pleaded guilty to injuring a child and is scheduled for sentencing in May 2025.

The two children involved, as well as two other children, are now in CPS custody. Police Chief Lieutenant Danby emphasized that this type of crime cannot go unpunished, stating, “To forcibly hold down your own children and tattoo them, is completely unacceptable and will never be allowed in Texas.”

This case highlights the profound responsibility parents hold in nurturing and protecting their children. The legal proceedings continue to unfold, with Megan Farr’s sentencing forthcoming.
