City of Waco Housing and Community Development invites qualified organizations to submit applications to receive funding from the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership Program

Waco, TX – The City of Waco is urging residents to bring their pets indoors as dangerously low temperatures are forecasted to last through the end of the week. While the area may not be facing snow, the extreme cold poses significant risks to the health and safety of pets left outdoors.

With temperatures dropping to potentially deadly levels, officials are emphasizing the importance of providing adequate warm shelter for pets. Failure to do so may result in fines starting at $2,000.

To help protect pets during this extreme weather, the city encourages people to report any dangerous situations by calling (254) 750-1765, and to leave detailed messages if necessary.

Warming centers are also available for those in need of refuge, with information about their locations available at Waco-Texas.com/WarmingCenter. Crated pets are allowed at these centers, though pet owners are reminded to bring their own supplies.

Residents are urged to take proactive steps to ensure the safety of their pets during this cold snap.
