Waco, TX – The City of Waco officially welcomed both new and returning members to its City Council during this week’s meeting, marking the beginning of a new two-year term for three district representatives.
Councilmembers Darius Ewing and George Chase were sworn in once again to serve District Four and District Five, respectively.
Joining them is newcomer Isabel Lozano, who will represent District Two.
In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, Councilmember Andrea Barefield of District One was appointed Mayor Pro Tem by a vote of the Council.
As Mayor Pro Tem, Barefield will serve in the Mayor’s role when Mayor Jim Holmes is unavailable.
City officials expressed optimism for the council’s continued leadership, emphasizing their dedication to serving the Waco community and shaping the city’s future.
