Waco, TX – Construction has officially started on the new Waco Fire Station 4 at 801 La Salle Avenue, the City of Waco announced.
The 8,600-square-foot, $5.99 million station will replace the current Station 4, which has served the Baylor University area since 1966.
City officials said the new location was chosen to improve response times as nearby apartment communities continue to grow.
When it opens in spring 2027, the station will include three apparatus bays, individual sleeping quarters, and space for up to eight firefighters per shift.
The building will feature a Spanish-style exterior designed to complement the La Salle corridor.
