COPPERAS COVE, Texas – Authorities are investigating a murder that occurred on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 1, after a woman was fatally shot in her home.
According to the Copperas Cove Police Department, officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim at 11:48 a.m. in the 900 block of Tanner Drive. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a 31-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to AdventHealth Central Texas for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries, police said.
Through a thorough investigation and interviews with witnesses at the scene, authorities identified a suspect known to the victim. The suspect was located and arrested at a nearby hotel shortly after the incident.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, citing the need to notify next of kin. Additionally, details about the suspect—including their name, charges, and bond information—will be provided after an arraignment, police said.
