Dad, who asked his 3 sons to join him for a nap before he got out of bed and executed them, admitted he hadn’t slept for days prior to the killings because the thoughts of having to kill his sons was so heavy on him; trial date set

According to the court documents, the 32-year-old defendant, later identified as Chad, is set to face trial from July 8, 2024 to August 2, 2024 in the deaths of his three sons: 3-year-old Chase, 4-year-old Hunter and 7-year-old Clayton. Prosecutors said the father asked his wife and three sons to join him for a nap. The dad then got out of bed and started shooting.

During an interview with investigators, the father reportedly said that ‘he hadn’t slept for days prior to the slayings because the thoughts of having to kill his sons was so heavy on him.’ County Prosecutor Mark reportedly said: “I can’t go into a whole lot of facts because this is a death penalty case, and my goal is to have this man executed for slaughtering these three little boys. It is an incomprehensible act of horror that he perpetrated on this family.”

According to the court documents, the 32-year-old dad shot his 4-year-old son first. The father then shot his 7-year-old son. Chad then took his 3-year-old son from his mother’s hands and killed him. Prosecutors said the father made a full admission to the crimes. Prosecutors also said that the father confessed to planning and carrying out the deaths of his boys for several months before shooting them at their home. The boy’s mom was also shot in the hand. At least one neighbor said that the father was abusive to his wife and kids and that the defendant was angry every day.

The 32-year-old dad was charged with nine counts of aggravated murder and other charges of kidnapping and felonious assault in a total 21-count indictment handed down. County Prosecutor Mark reportedly said: “This is a death penalty case and my goal is to have this man executed for slaughtering these three little boys.” An obituary for the boys said that the they bonded together in life and now for eternity as God has reeled them in to heaven for unending days of fishing, playing outside way past bedtime, laughing loudly, and non-stop giggling.
