Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the arrest of Rigoberto Enrique Valencia, a fugitive from the state’s 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List.
Valencia, 20, a criminal illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was taken into custody on Friday, March 14, in Liberty County. A Crime Stoppers reward will not be paid for this arrest.
Valencia was apprehended following a coordinated traffic stop between DPS Special Agents and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office in Cleveland.
He had been wanted by law enforcement in Harris County since August 29, 2024, for failing to appear in court on charges of carrying a prohibited weapon.
The arrest comes after multiple run-ins with law enforcement. In March 2024, Valencia was arrested by the Houston Police Department for unlawfully carrying a weapon.
He was arrested again on August 25, 2024, for carrying a prohibited weapon, after which he posted bail and was released from jail.
Valencia’s capture is another step in the ongoing efforts by DPS to apprehend individuals on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List and to ensure public safety in the state.
