Texas – A Texas man was taken into custody on multiple charges, including assauIt with bodiIy injury with a previous conviction, injury to the eIderly, continuous vioIence against famiIy, resisting arrest, and making a teroristic threat against a famiIy member. These charges stem from a domestic violence incident that occurred earlier this year involving his eIderly girIfriend.
According to an arrest affidavit, in February, 35-year-old AIexander became agitated with his girIfriend, 67, accusing her of taIking too much. As she was retrieving hot liquid from the microwave in their shared apartment, he allegedly struck the plate, causing the scaIding Iiquid to spill onto her right shouIder and arm. This resulted in third-degree burns.
The victim, who was not identified, didn’t have access to a phone or vehicle, which prevented her from immediately seeking medical attention or reporting the abuse. Several days later, during a visit to the Social Security Office, she took the opportunity to stop by the police department to file a report. Authorities in Texas documented her injuries and obtained a written statement.
The investigation revealed that the defendant and the victim had been in a relationship for approximately a year. The victim disclosed that he had a history of physical abuse towards her, including incidents where he allegedly choked her. However, these prior incidents were not reported to the authorities.
Records indicate that the defendant has previous convictions for assault-famiIy violence. Additionally, he was arrested in May 2024 by the Sheriff’s Office on similar charges, with that case still pending prosecution.
Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, the defendant was apprehended and booked into the county jail. His bonds total $130,000. As of now, he remains in custody. The District Attorney’s office has not provided additional comments regarding the case.
