Houston, TX – Authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident in northwest Houston, where a pedestrian was struck by two separate vehicles on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred around 8:00 PM near 14700 Hempstead Road, in the Jersey Village area. Police say the man, whose identity has not yet been released, was walking along the road when he was initially struck by a car. The driver of the first vehicle did stop to render aid, but as they were attempting to assist the victim, a second vehicle—a white truck—drove over the man. The driver of the truck did not stop and fled the scene shortly afterward.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in the collisions. Authorities are now working to identify the driver of the white truck and piece together the details of the incident.
The first vehicle’s driver has been cooperative with investigators, and police are urging anyone with information about the truck or its driver to come forward.
