According to the court documents, the father, later identified as 66-year-old Tony, was sentenced to 100 years in prison after he reportedly killed his daughter, 8-year-old Ariana. Prosecutors said the elderly man shot his young daughter while he attempted to shoot his girlfriend, Ariana’s mother, and their 18-year-old son.
Prosecutors said the 66-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide. The fatal incident occurred in July last year. The 911 caller, Tony, reportedly told the dispatcher that he shot people inside his home who were trying to attack him. The responding officers found the 8-year-old child suffering from life-threatening injuries. The girl was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
During an interview with investigators, the 66-year-old man reportedly said that he thought his girlfriend and their 18-year-old son were trying to remove him from the home. He then took a handgun and opened fire on them. During the shooting, Tony reportedly tried to shoot his son. He missed and shot his 8-year-old daughter in the back.
Tony also shot his longtime partner, Arianna’s mother, who recovered from her injuries.
