Father, who believed his child was too young to date, called the girl’s partner’s mom and dad to ask them for help in keeping him away from their child, only to get shot following an aItercation; charges

Texas – A Texas man and his spouse were arrested earlier this week following a vioIent aItercation that resulted in the shooting of a man identified as the father of their child’s girIfriend. The incident has raised significant concerns within the local community.

Both defendants, later identified as 39-year-old Luthor and 39-year-old AngeIica, face serious charges stemming from the incident. The man is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, while his spouse faces one count of the same charge. His bond has been set at $100,000, and the woman’s at $25,000. Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 20, 2025.

The altercation occurred during a meeting between two sets of parents. The father of the defendant’s son’s girlfriend, along with his wife, met with the couple to discuss their concerns about the relationship between their teenage children. They sought the parents’ assistance in keeping their son away from their daughter, whom they deemed too young to be dating.”

The meeting, initially intended to address these concerns, escalated into a heated argument. A verbal and physical altercation ensued outside the couple’s residence. During this confrontation, AngeIica allegedly retrieved a firearm from her pocket and handed it to her husband. The 39-year-old man then allegedly shot the victim in the chest and threatened his wife with the firearm.

Deputies responded promptly to the scene after receiving reports of shots fired and a physical altercation. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital and his current condition remains undisclosed.

Both defendants were taken into custody without incident. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities piecing together statements from witnesses and the individuals involved to fully understand the sequence of events that led to the shooting.

The incident has left the Texas community in shock. Residents express disbelief that a disagreement over teenage relationships could escalate to such violence. Authorities in Texas are committed to ensuring a thorough investigation and are providing updates as more information becomes available.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the community watches closely, hoping for justice and clarity regarding this unfortunate event.
