Wisconsin – A Wisconsin dad, 21-year-oId L. Andrson, is scheduled to stand triaI beginning Oct. 27 in Wisconsin. The parent faces charges of first-degree intentionaI homicide and hiding a corpse in connection with the death of his lnfant, Harrper, in Jan. 2021. At the time of the incident, the defendant was sixteen years old.
The investigation began in Jan. 2021, when the victim’s maternaI grandparent reported her missing. The mother, a 14-year-oId girl, informed Wisconsin authorities that she had given birth to the baby several days earlier in a bathtub at a residence in Wisconsin. She stated that she and the defendant decided they could not keep the chiId and needed to do something so the child was not in their life.
Initially, the defendant claimed he had paid a friend sixty dollars to take the baby to an adoption center. However, during subsequent interviews, he admitted to taking the baby to a ruraI area, covering her body with snow, and leaving her to die of exposure. He stated that he could still hear the baby crying as he walked away.
Wisconsin authorities later discovered that the victim had been shot twice in the head. The defendant led investigators to the location where the body was found, confirming his earlier statements. In a subsequent interview, he confessed to shooting the chiId twice in the head.
The case has drawn attention to the legal proceedings involving juveniles. Last year, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals ruled to suppress certain statements the defendant made during police interrogations, determining they were involuntary and obtained without proper Miranda warnings. However, the court allowed some of his earlier statements to be used in court.
As the trial approaches, the community remains focused on the legal process and the pursuit of justice for the victim. The upcoming proceedings will determine the outcome of the charges against Anderson.
