Girl released from jail after 1 year behind bars even after she killed her sleeping father ‘by throwing drain cleaner on him for being too drunk to take her to hair appointment’!

According to the court documents, the 19-year-old teen, Megan, who fatally doused her sleeping father with a chemical drain cleaner which left him seriously ill until he succumbed to his injuries six months later, has walked free from court after only getting a one year sentence with credit for time served. The teen reportedly killed her sleeping father for being too drunk to take her to hair appointment. She has walked free from court after only getting a one year sentence with credit for time served.

Prosecutors said that the teen could have faced a life sentence over the death of her 64-year-old father Conrad, with whom she was angry because the parent was too drunk to take her to a hair appointment. She received a year in prison with credit for time served and five years of probation during her sentencing hearing. She was found guilty of using harmful devices/irritants causing death in a four-day trial presided over by Judge Valentine. For this felony she could have been sentenced to life imprisonment or any term of years and/or a fine up to $40,000 – but was let off with a light sentence.

The teen spent 500 days in a suburban ail after her father’s death. In addition, she will undergo strict probation restrictions and will be required to participate in an education program. The teen sobbed in court upon learning of her reduced sentence.  She expressed her happiness at being able to return home to her family and revealed her shock at the leniency of the judge’s decision. ‘I’m really happy I get to go home with my family,’ she said, adding: ‘I’m excited.’

The teen allegedly threw lye powder on her father with water, in order to produce a chemical reaction and cause severe burns.  Prosecutors said that she threw the powder on her father because she was upset with him for being too drunk to take her to a hair appointment ahead of her 18th birthday party. Conrad is said to have been an alcoholic. Police reported that the teenager left her father unconscious on the couch in their home before leaving the residence. The teen’s mother pleaded for mercy, stating that the family had been broken even before the incident and was further shattered by the events that transpired.
