Texas – Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement following President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress, commending the accomplishments of the President’s first two months in office.
Abbott highlighted the swift actions taken by President Trump to deliver on campaign promises, particularly focusing on cutting unnecessary government regulations and securing significant investments that contributed to the revival of U.S. manufacturing.
Abbott also pointed to the Trump Administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration, which he argued had been exacerbated by the previous administration.
He referenced the tragic death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray from Houston as a reminder of the consequences of illegal immigration and emphasized the importance of the work being done to reduce illegal border crossings.
In his statement, Abbott reaffirmed Texas’ commitment to partnering with the federal government in border and homeland security operations aimed at arresting, detaining, and deporting illegal immigrants.
“President Trump’s vision for the next four years is clear,” said Abbott, expressing his eagerness to continue working alongside the President to renew the American Dream.
