Texas – Following an aerial tour of flood damage, Governor Greg Abbott held a press conference at the Hunt Store to update the public on Texas’s ongoing efforts to respond to severe flooding.
Governor Abbott emphasized the priority of locating missing persons and urged Texans to report them by calling 830-258-1111 or emailing [email protected], cautioning against false reports.
He also highlighted available grief counseling resources from several community organizations to support those affected by the disaster.
Accompanied by state officials including Speaker Dustin Burrows and emergency management leaders, Abbott discussed damage assessments and preparations for protecting communities from future disasters.
Texas has deployed over 2,100 personnel and 1,100 vehicles across 20 state agencies to aid in response and recovery. Residents are encouraged to report flood damage through the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s iSTAT tool at damage.tdem.texas.gov.
