Waco, TX – According to the state officials, Governor Greg Abbott showcased Texas’ thriving energy sector and the state’s appeal to global businesses during a fireside chat at the Texas Oil & Gas Association’s (TXOGA) 2024 Lone Star Energy Forum in Frisco.
Moderated by Chevron Mid-Continent Business Unit Vice President Ryder Booth, the discussion focused on Texas’ pro-business economic policies that foster growth across industries. Governor Abbott emphasized the impact of House Bill 5, signed into law last year, which provides local communities with economic development tools to attract more projects to the state.
The Governor also highlighted the Texas Energy Fund and called for prioritizing nuclear energy to meet growing demand while maintaining a diverse energy mix. Additionally, he praised the recent property tax cut— the largest in state history— which returned $18 billion to Texans.
Governor Abbott was joined at the forum by former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, TXOGA President Todd Staples, and other key energy industry leaders and state officials.
