Texas – Earlier this week, a granite monument was unveiled at the Limestone County Courthouse to honor the memory of fallen Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Chad Walker.
Trooper Walker tragically lost his life in the line of duty in March 2021 while responding to a call to assist a stranded motorist. The driver, unexpectedly, opened fire, fatally wounding Trooper Walker.
The dedication ceremony was attended by family members of Trooper Walker, along with DPS officers and community members. In a heartfelt tribute, officials and loved ones gathered to reflect on Trooper Walker’s unwavering commitment to his duty, his bravery, and the sacrifice he made in service to his community and the state of Texas.
“Trooper Walker faithfully served his community and our state,” said DPS officials. “We are thankful to his family for joining us today, as we paid tribute to his life and legacy.
Trooper Walker was a true hero, and his memory lives on in the hearts of everyone at DPS. He will never be forgotten, and this monument serves as a permanent reminder of Trooper Walker and the sacrifice he made while protecting Texas.”
Trooper Walker’s tragic passing continues to resonate deeply within the DPS community, and the granite monument stands as a symbol of his dedication and bravery. It will serve as a lasting reminder of the ultimate price paid by law enforcement officers who selflessly protect and serve the citizens of Texas.
