Texas – Commissioner Sid Miller announced that the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s pesticide waste removal event in Navasota collected an estimated 75,000 pounds of unwanted pesticides from over 100 producers.
This free public event provides agricultural producers across Texas a safe, convenient way to dispose of hazardous pesticides and recycle containers, helping protect land, wildlife, and public health.
Accepted items included outdated or unwanted agricultural pesticides and treated seeds, while certain hazardous materials and non-agricultural waste were excluded.
TDA continues to regulate pesticide use, licensing, training, and environmental protection statewide.
