Investigation Underway After Woman Struck by Houston Police Vehicle

HOUSTON, Texas — An investigation is currently underway after a woman was struck by a Houston Police Department vehicle on the city’s northeast side Thursday night. The incident occurred when the woman, who was reportedly wearing a hoodie, attempted to cross Ley Road while a police officer was driving south on Homestead Road.

According to officials, the officer tried to avoid hitting the woman but was unable to do so in time. The impact sent the woman to the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries. Police Chief Larry Satterwhite confirmed that the woman was alert and speaking with medical personnel following the incident.

While authorities have yet to release further details about the circumstances surrounding the collision, they emphasized that a full investigation is underway. Local officials are working to determine the cause and ensure that appropriate measures are taken moving forward.

At this time, there is no information available regarding the woman’s condition or identity. Authorities have assured the public that the investigation is a priority, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers pedestrians face and highlights the importance of road safety for both drivers and those crossing streets.
