KILLEEN, TX– A male juvenile was arrested on January 13 after crashing a stolen vehicle into a residence while attempting to flee from police officers. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of N. WS Young Drive.
According to Killeen Police, officers had been investigating a series of recent vehicle thefts when they spotted the juvenile driving a stolen Hyundai near Rancier Avenue and Massey Street. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over and instead led officers on a brief pursuit.
As the chase continued, the suspect ignored several stop signs. Police said the driver was traveling eastbound on Duncan Avenue when he failed to properly navigate a left turn onto WS Young Drive. The vehicle then struck a home on the corner of the intersection.
Fortunately, no one inside the residence was injured, and there was no significant damage to the property. Police confirmed that no additional injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The juvenile, whose identity has not been released, was arrested at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stolen vehicle and the events leading up to the crash.
