Waco, TX – A 22-year-old man from Little River Academy was arrested on December 28 after he attempted to meet with someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl for a sexual encounter, authorities reported.
Eduardo Hernandez, Jr. was charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. The arrest came after an undercover operation conducted by the Lacy Lakeview Police Department.
According to an arrest warrant, a detective posing as a 15-year-old girl initiated contact with Hernandez on social media, specifically via Facebook Messenger.
Over the course of their conversations, Hernandez reportedly made sexually explicit remarks, including offering to meet the “girl” for sex.
Even after the detective informed him that he was speaking with a minor, Hernandez continued to engage in the conversation, requesting nude photos and agreeing to meet in person at a local park.
On December 28, Hernandez arranged to meet the “girl” at a park in the 600 block of N. Patricia Street. Authorities set up surveillance, and Hernandez was seen arriving at the park in a Chevrolet pickup truck.
He sent a message asking where the restroom was located and was seen heading toward the park’s restroom.
However, Hernandez abruptly turned around and left the scene. Police followed Hernandez, conducting a traffic stop shortly after he drove away.
Hernandez was arrested and, even after being read his Miranda rights, admitted to traveling to the park with the intent to meet the underage girl for sex.
He was subsequently booked and later released from the county jail after posting a $7,000 bond.
The arrest serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat online solicitation and protect minors from potential exploitation. Hernandez now faces serious legal consequences for his actions.
