Kentucky – A Kentucky parent recently pleaded guilty to the murder of his own child, Stacya, and was sentenced to two life sentences last week. According to the court documents, the sentences are ordered to be served concurrently and the defendant will have the possibility of parole in twenty five years.
The incident occurred in August 2022, when the 12-year-old child was reported missing, and her body was later found in a remote area. The 50-year-old parent, Sttacy, was arrested and charged with murder and kidnapping in connection with his daughter’s death. In addition to the murder charge, he faced charges of kidnapping, as he had taken his daughter from her mother’s home before the incident.
The investigation began when the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 12-year-old girl. Later that day, deputies found the defendant suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a road. Hours later, they discovered the victim’s body approximately two miles away. Authorities believe the defendant shot his daughter before attempting to take his own life.
During the investigation, authorities learned that the defendant had sent a text message to the victim’s mother, asking if she wanted to speak with her daughter one last time before he shot the child to death. This message raised suspicions and led to further investigation. The defendant was subsequently arrested and charged with murder and kidnapping.
In March 2025, Collins entered a guilty plea to the charges and as part of the plea agreement, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison without the possibility of parole. The case has drawn attention to issues of domestic violence and the tragic consequences of such actions.
