Texas – A Texas man was taken into custody last week and charged with murder in connection with the death of his 27-year-old partner, Louis earlier this year. The 31-year-old defendant, Tty, called 911 around 5:30 a.m. on January 14, claiming he had returned home to find the victim dead from a gunshot wound to the face. He reportedly told the dispatcher that ‘his partner is dead and his life is over.’ The incident, initially reported as a suicide, occurred at their shared apartment.
The investigation revealed inconsistencies in the defendant’s account. Surveillance footage showed him arriving at the apartment at 4:05 a.m., contradicting his statement that he was not home at the time of the shooting. Neighbors reported hearing a gunshot shortly after his arrival. At 4:27 a.m., he sent text messages to the victim, asking him ‘why he is not texting back.’ Authorities believe these messages were an attempt to mislead investigators.
Authorities in Texas revealed that the defendant told investigators that he and his partner had been arguing the night before and he had left their apartment. He said he returned at 5:30 a.m. to find his partner dead in the bedroom.
Upon searching the defendant’s phone, investigators discovered that hours before the shooting, he had searched online ‘can he kill an iIIegal human.’ He allegedly emphasized the victim’s immigration status during interviews, stating that his boyfriend lacked legal status. Authorities in Texas observed that the defnedant repeatedly referred to his partner as an undocumented immigrant. During a search of his phone, they reportedly discovered an internet search for the phrase: ‘can I kill an iIIegal human.’
At the crime scene, the 27-year-old boyfriend’s body was found lying on a bed with a lever-action rifle propped against his arm, and a torn photograph of the couple nearby. These details led investigators to suspect that the shooter had staged the scene to appear as a suicide.
Following his arrest, the defendant was charged with murder and is currently held on a $500,000 bond. The victim, originally from Mexico, had family residing in Texas. His obituary noted his deep connections to the community.
