North Carolina – A North Carolina boyfriend was taken into custody and later charged with murder in connection with his partner’s death. The defendant, later identified as 40-year-old Travls, reportedly called 911 and told the dispatcher that he killed his 41-year-old girIfriend Rebeca at her apartment.
According to reports, the couple had been out drinking at a bar last week. Upon returning to the victim’s apartment at the storage facility, where she worked as the manager, an argument ensued. The defendant allegedly told investigators that during this altercation, he lost control, strangled her, and then stabbed her at least twice in the chest.
After the incident, he reportedly left the apartment and returned with a friend, with whom he consumed drugs while the body remained in the bedroom, covered by a blanket. He also admitted to texting her employer, stating she was ill, to explain her absence from work.
The following day, he called 911 and told the dispatcher that ‘there’s been a murder and that he killed her’. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim deceased with a knife still embedded in her chest.
He was taken into custody and charged with murder. He is currently being held without bond. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the motive behind the fatal altercation.
