Man told police his living partner, who was ‘very difficult to live with and usually left the lights and water on’, said something offensive to him before he killed him in their shared home

Texas – A Texas man is behind bars and later charged with multiple charges, including murder after he reportedly killed 59-year-old Gregori at their shared home. The elderly man, later identified as 81-year-old DougIas, was taken into custody shortly after the fatal shooting. The defendant reportedly called the authorities and told the dispatcher that he just killed a man.

The investigation process began last week after a 911 call was placed by the shooter. During the call, the defendant was asked whether the victim was still alive, in which he replied that ‘he is dead’. The responding officers made contact with the defendant, who reportedly told them that he and his other roomnate were the only one present at the location.

First responding officers found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene. The murder weapon was also recovered at the scene.

During an interview with investigators, the 81-year-old man reportedly said that he and the victim were in conflict when the victim made a rude comment toward him. Shortly after, the defendant grabbed his firearm and shot the victim to death, while claiming the victim never approached him in any threatening way and was unarmed.

During the interview, the defendant also added that the victim was very difficult housemate, because he  would often leave the front door open and lights and water on. The 81-year-old man is being held on $200,000, court records say. This incident remains under investigation.
