California – A California man was sentenced to three consecutive Iife terms without the possibiIity of paroIe for his role in the tripIe homicide of J. GoodwiII, her spouse Cristopher and their friend A. Bucher in California.
The case centered around the defendant’s, 33-year-old Franc, involvement in a plot to eliminate the parents of a underage girl he had become romantically involved.
The investigation revealed that the defendant, along with his accomplice, 21-year-old J. Akosta, conspired to murder the girl’s parents, who disapproved of their relationship. In 2016, the defendant drove his accomplice to the victim residence in California. While the underage girl, 17, waited in the vehicle with the defendant, 21-year-old J. Akosta entered the home armed with a firearm provided by the defendant.
The 21-year-old then shot all three victims in the head.
After the murders, the defendant and the underage girl returned to his home in California, where they burned their clothing and attempted to destroy their cell phones to eliminate evidence. The following morning, the victim’s 6-year-old child discovered the bodies and called 911, stating, “mom and dad died.”
J. Akosta was convicted several years before and is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 75 years.
During the investigation process, authorities in California said the defendant reportedly became obsesed with the girl and was eventually romantically involved with her. The girl’s mom and her husband disapproved of the relationship. The defendant decided he needed the parents out of the way so the girl could run away with him.
During sentencing, the defendant expressed remorse, stating he would trade places in a minute with those who were killed. The case has been a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of obsessive relationships and the importance of addressing warning signs before they escalate into violence.
