Mom abducted her 5-year-old daughter with a knife before crashing into a pond while the child was trapped in the front seat; prosecutors say she didn’t made any effort to try to rescue the girl and instead yelled at officers ‘help me, save me’; convicted

According to the court documents, the 33-year-old mom, later identified as Pamela, reportedly abducted her 5-year-old daughter, Vanity, before crashing her vehicle into a pond while the child was trapped in the front seat of the vehicle. The mom’s vehicle sank to the bottom of the pond and a dive team recovered the body.

Last week, the mother pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter of a child and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude causing death. Prosecutors say the mother abducted her noncustodial child in 2022 while she was armed with a knife. The mother then lead police on high speed chase. According to the court documents, the young mother then drove erratically, crossed lanes at a high speed and almost hit other drivers.

While driving with high speed, the mother lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pond. When the car was submerged, the 33-year-old mother was able to escape the vehicle and held onto a tire. The mother then started yelling at the officers ‘help me. Save me.’” Prosecutors say that the mother didn’t made any effort to try to rescue Vanity, who was trapped in the front seat of the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the car sank to the bottom of the pond and a dive team recovered the child’s body. According to the court documents, Pamela reportedly had mental illnesses (schizophrenia and bipolar disorder). The mother reportedly lost custody of her daughter and officials gave the 5-year-old child to her sister.
