California – A California mother was taken into custody over the weekend after one of her friends called 911 and informed the authorities about child abuse involving her baby.
Deputies responded to a report of possible child abuse at the mother’s residence and when they arrived on scene, they observed the the 22-year-old mother, later identified as AIeesha, placing her infant into a vehicle and noticed facial injuries on the child that appeared to be deliberately inflicted and consistent with child abuse.
After interviewing the woman and witnesses at the scene, deputies arrested the mother on a felony charge of child abuse under circumstances likely to cause great bodily injury. She was subsequently booked into the county jail.
The investigation began when a friend of the mother contacted authorities in California after receiving a video call from her. During the video call, the mother was reportedly in tears and showed her friend’s baby’s bruised face, which he described as having a fist imprint. This prompted the friend to alert law enforcement.
Upon examination, the infant’s injuries were found to be consistent with deliberate physical abuse. The child was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and was later released into the custody of family members.
The mother was arraigned this week on the felony charge of child abuse under circumstances likely to cause great bodily injury. Following her arraignment, she was released from custody.
The incident has raised concerns within the local community regarding child welfare and the importance of reporting suspected abuse. Authorities have emphasized the significance of community involvement in safeguarding children and have encouraged individuals to report any suspicions of child abuse to local law enforcement or child protective services.
