Florida – A Florida woman was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including first-degree murder with a weapon and attempted first-degree murder with a weapon. According to the plea deal reached with prosecutors, they agreed not to seek the death penalty and dropped attempted felony murder charge.
The investigation process began in May 2022 after the 911 called told the dispatcher about the incident. The defendant’s family member called the authorities after talking with the defendant on the phone. The defendant reportedly told the unidentified family member that she polsoned her children and one of the was already dead. The woman also said that she gave polson to the other child and ‘she would be dead soon as well’.
While on the phone with the defendant, the family member asked her to put her daughter on the phone. While speaking to the child, she reportedly told the girl to run and get help. Luckily, the child was able to exit her mother’s vehicle and look for help. She was found and immediately rushed to the hospital.
When the responding officers found the mother’s vehicle, they found the 3-year-old child unresponsive and her mother drooIing from her mouth. First responders pronounced the child dead at the scene. During the investigation process, authorities learned the woman picked her children from the family member’s home before driving to the location where they were found.
According to the 8-year-old child, their mom reportedly gave them miIk, that was specially made for them and it would clean their beIIy. The woman forced her 3-year-old child to drink half the bootle of milk, which was mixed with bleach. The surviving child told investigators that she drank severals sips of the ‘miIk’ before throwing up.
According to the child, the white liquid smelled bad and burned her tongue. The mother reportedly told them the miIk was good for them and they have to drink it. According to the child, when the woman put her younger sibling in the vehicle, the child was not responsive. Authorities believe that’s when she strangIed the child to death.
During the investigation process, authorities also learned the parent assaulted and stabbed her partner with a knife before getting her children from the relative’s home. After believing both children were poisoned and dead, the woman tried to take her own life by drinking ‘considerable amount of bleach’.
