Tyler, Texas – A Plano man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Nacogdoches woman who was found shot multiple times earlier this month.
Jorian Jackson, 29, was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon at a family member’s residence on State Highway 31, east of Tyler. Jackson was arrested without incident and is now being transported to the Smith County Jail for questioning. Authorities have named him as the primary suspect in the shooting death of 26-year-old Cheyenne Russell.
Russell’s body was discovered on January 6, inside an apartment, where she was found with multiple gunshot wounds. The Tyler Police Department launched an investigation into her death, which has led to Jackson’s arrest.
Tyler police spokesperson Andy Erbaugh revealed that Jackson’s last known location was at a Motel 6 in Waco, where he was reportedly seen on January 7, just days after the killing. The investigation ultimately led authorities to Jackson’s location, resulting in the successful arrest.
At this time, police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Russell’s death. Jackson is being held at the Smith County Jail as authorities work to determine the full details of the case.
