Robinson Woman Accused of Embezzling Over $42,000 from Heart of Texas Cheer & Dance

ROBINSON, Texas – A local woman has been charged with embezzling more than $42,000 from a Central Texas cheerleading business, Heart of Texas Cheer & Dance (HOT Cheer). Alison Shannon Morris, 44, was arrested on January 13, 2025, following an investigation into the alleged theft, which took place over the course of several years.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by KWTX, Morris, who had worked for HOT Cheer for four years, is accused of diverting funds from the business into her personal accounts. The owner of HOT Cheer, located at 8081 Robinson Industrial Park Drive, alerted police on February 9, 2024, after noticing discrepancies involving missing cash and money transferred to Morris’ personal Cash App and Venmo accounts.

The warrant details several instances of financial misconduct, including unaccounted-for cash and payments that should have gone to the business. In addition, the owner claimed that a substantial sum of money was taken during a uniform purchase, which involved both checks and cash. Investigators determined that approximately $42,270 had been transferred into Morris’ accounts under the assumption that she was returning it to the business.

Detectives reported that Morris admitted to the crime during questioning. She acknowledged receiving payments from customers through the financial apps but failed to provide any documentation when given multiple opportunities to do so.

Morris has been charged with theft of property valued over $30,000 but under $150,000, a felony under Texas law. As of now, she is no longer listed as an active inmate at the McLennan County Jail. Authorities continue to investigate the case, and Morris is expected to face further legal proceedings.
