Temple Police Investigate Murder-Suicide in Domestic Violence Incident

TEMPLE, Texas – The Temple Police Department is investigating a tragic murder-suicide that occurred on the evening of January 24. Authorities responded to a call at approximately 8 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 9000 block of Cantera Ridge Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered one individual who had been shot.

In a follow-up update on Saturday morning, police confirmed that the suspect was found deceased inside the residence. Preliminary information suggests that the incident was related to domestic violence. Investigators believe the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute, which ended in the death of one person and the subsequent suicide of the alleged shooter.

The area was secured initially, but authorities have since lifted the roadblocks. As of 12:44 a.m. on Saturday, police assured the public that there was no further threat to the community. The Temple Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.

At this time, authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact Temple Police at 254-298-5500.

The case remains under investigation as law enforcement works to understand the details of this devastating incident.
