Temple Police Investigate Murder-Suicide on Cantera Ridge Road

TEMPLE, Texas – The Temple Police Department is investigating a tragic murder-suicide that occurred Friday night in the 9000 block of Cantera Ridge Road.

Around 8 p.m. on January 24, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the residential area. Upon arrival, authorities discovered one person who had been shot. Police later confirmed that the suspect was found deceased inside the home.

In a statement released Saturday morning, police said initial findings suggest the incident was related to domestic violence, but they have not yet provided further details on the individuals involved. At the time of the investigation, there was no ongoing threat to public safety, and the area was no longer blocked off.

The police department noted that the case remains under investigation as they continue to gather information. The identities of those involved have not been released, and further updates are expected as authorities work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This tragic event marks the latest in a series of domestic violence-related incidents across the region, prompting calls for greater awareness and resources to address such matters.

The Temple Police Department urges anyone with additional information related to the case to come forward as they continue their investigation.
