Temple Police Investigating Murder-Suicide Incident

TEMPLE, Texas – The Temple Police Department is investigating a tragic murder-suicide that occurred Friday night in the 9000 block of Cantera Ridge Road.

At approximately 8 p.m. on January 24, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, authorities discovered one individual had been shot. The suspect was later found deceased inside the residence.

In a statement released Saturday morning, police indicated that preliminary information suggests the incident was related to domestic violence. The identities of the individuals involved have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Police further confirmed that the scene was cleared and the area no longer posed a threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing, with law enforcement officials urging anyone with information to come forward. Those with relevant details are asked to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.

While the case is still under investigation, police have classified the incident as a murder-suicide, following the discovery of the suspect’s body inside the home.
