Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety has successfully apprehended another fugitive from Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List. Carlos Venegas Ortiz, 46, was arrested on Wednesday, April 9, in Tarrant County.
Ortiz, a criminal illegal immigrant from Mexico, had been wanted since October 2024 for continuous sexual abuse of a young child. He was arrested at an apartment complex in Haltom City, Texas.
The arrest was made possible through a coordinated effort between DPS’ Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Haltom City Police Department officers, and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force.
Ortiz, who has a criminal history dating back to 2008, had previously been arrested in Tarrant County for assault causing bodily injury to a family member and driving while intoxicated.
