Texas Game Wardens Investigate Unlawful Shooting of Buck at Waco Campground

Waco, TX — Texas Game Wardens are searching for the individual responsible for the unlawful shooting of a white-tailed buck at the Airport Park Campground in Waco. The incident occurred on the morning of November 24, when the deer was discovered shot and abandoned near RV camping sites at 4600 Skeet Eason Road.

According to the Texas Game Wardens, the buck’s carcass was found in a secluded area of the campground, raising concerns about illegal hunting practices in the area. The shooting occurred close to the campground’s RV section, and investigators are working to gather evidence and identify any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity around the time of the incident.

“This is a senseless act of poaching, and we are committed to finding the person responsible,” said a spokesperson for the Texas Game Wardens. “We encourage anyone who may have information to come forward, as this crime harms wildlife and the community.”

The case has prompted an offer of a reward for any information leading to the arrest or conviction of the suspect. Texas Game Wardens are offering up to $1,000 for tips that help solve the case.

Residents and visitors to the area who may have seen anything unusual are urged to contact the Operation Game Thief hotline at 1-800-792-4263. This confidential tip line is designed to help gather information and protect the state’s wildlife from illegal activities.

As the investigation continues, Game Wardens are reminding the public of the importance of ethical hunting practices and the consequences of wildlife poaching. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is dedicated to preserving the state’s natural resources, and the Game Wardens are working diligently to ensure those who violate hunting laws are held accountable.
